About Dockside Resort
Dockside Resort near Gay, Michigan, has over 1200 feet of Lake Superior shoreline with awesome views. That is equivalent to 24 city lots in a row, but along the lake!
We are especially unique because the dock itself was designed in the 1920's by our grandfather, Charles Kauppi, for his commercial fishing processing center. A long cement and brick breakwall juts out to provide shelter from the east winds. The two arms of the dock system create shelter for small motor boats, canoes and kayaks, and happy swimmers. Land lubbers enjoy the dock side for picnics and evening bonfires.
Fishing is popular for both rod and reel lovers and for adventurous boaters. Our campground, on the west side of the property, include both hook-ups and rustic sites.

In winter, adventurous skiers from Mount Bohemia love to stay at our vacation house for cozy apres ski times. Plus there are about 6,300 miles of snowmobile trails in Michigan. And experts give the award for the best snowmobile trails to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Keweenaw Peninsula Scenic winter trails 122/124 and 133, run right to our driveway or right through the little town of Gay. You can get everywhere from our house by the lake.
Our beautiful year round vacation home features an upscale full kitchen in the great room with two huge 8 foot windows to reveal fabulous views. We are a one-of-a-kind get-away spot!
We love YOUR adventures. We want you to have a wonderful time in these north woods and along these rugged shores. We are happy to share the beauty of our peninsula with you and we look forward to accommodating your vacation needs for any variety of activities that you have in mind. Each season offers so much and we want you to enjoy it all.
